Using Positive Self Talk Can Change Negative To Positive In Your Life
I know you have heard what you put out is what you get back. So,
in this short post, I want to share some self talk experiences with you.
I wake up every morning and I say to myself (out loud most of the
time), “Today is going to be a great day.” This kind of self-talk
helps. Most of my days are great. But…those mornings when I forget
to say that one line my day is not as great.
It is your choice how your day will go, but for so many of us we wake
up with bills or other worries on our mind. Those feelings will bring
to you more of the same feelings, right? So how do you get rid of those
feelings?
That is a good question. I practice positive self talk. Don’t get me
wrong, you can read a positive book. In fact, I have them everywhere
around the house, and in my car. Sometimes, I play music that always
puts a smile on my face, or I may call up a friend that is always cheerful.
Ok now let’s get back to self-talk. Here are a couple of self talk
solutions my wife and I use.
My wife, Christi, works at Food Lion. I work at Dollar General and a
liquor store. When we first started working, I would say, “We never have a
day off together, anymore.” For weeks, we didn’t. Plus, I would be going
into work when she would be getting off.
One day my wife said to me, “Why don’t we say everyday, that we have a great
schedule, and spend lots of time with each other.” Well we tried it. The
very next week we had one day off together. Weeks after that we would have
a day off together or at least work about the same hours. Now, my boss told
me just last week to let her know Christi’s schedule and she would try to
match it.
“Don’t Forget” Self Talk Verses “Remember”
I use to say, “Don’t forget to take your vitamins, or don’t forget to call,
or don’t forget to bring something home.” I am sure you get the picture. Now,
since I learned how to use positive self talk I replaced ‘the don’t forget’
with ‘remember.’ It is funny how great this works.
One more self talk example, just because I think it is funny. My wife would
ask me how much gas to put in her car. She only drives it back and forth to
work so we don’t always fill it up. For 4 weeks she would come home and say
she went over. Her exact words were, “I don’t know why, but I always go over.”
So, of course, I said, “Start right now, saying, I stop the gas pump at the
right time every time.” Well it has only been 2 weeks, but she has stopped
the pump each time without going over.
Practice positive self talk, by eliminating the negative words and see
things change.
Let me know if you self-talk. Share with me some your positive self talk
solutions. I am always looking for more.

Hey Jaden,
First, let me say thanks for joining my circle of friends. I think what you are doing with this site is great. I wish I’d thought of it first,
.
I’ve been practicing positive affirmations for sometime now. I know this works, because for months, I’ve been saying, “I weigh a healthy 140 pounds. When I started this particular affirmation, I weighed 330 pounds. Now, I weigh 257. And I haven’t done anything different with my eating or exercises. I want anyone who reads this to understand, the weight loss has been a slow process, which I wanted, so that I would keep the weight off once I lost it. I say this with the belief that it has already happened. I think that it is crucial, to believe, you have already received what you are asking for, and the wording must always be positive.
Keep up the good work, you’ll probably never know how many lives you’ve touched
Absolutely agree with changing the wording that you use in your life will make a big difference in what you manifest in your life. Also, like you, I listen to audios in my car and this helps me keep my mindset on track. That one change alone has made a huge difference in my life.

I love “Remember”! I have been using that one for a while too! In fact I am known by my niece and nephew as auntie remember. When they were little we have a little remember tune. Both of them thought it was silly but I do notice that they use “remember” a lot more than “don’t forget”.
I’m with you Jaden, It Works!
I think I forgot to use positive self talk Monday morning. That explains the crappiness of that day, and how when I reframed my mindset I have had a better Tuesday and today was pretty cool!
Thanks for the great post Jaden,
One of the reasons that using positive self talk is so important is that it is a way for us to condition ourselves to be more positive. It’s easy to read a positive book and then let it fade into memory. For something to have a lasting impact, it’s important that it be re-experienced enough that it becomes part of us.
A lot of people could benefit from using positive self talk as you describe to re-direct thought and keep ourselves going in the direction we want to go.
Jaden,
Just simple things make such a huge difference, the positive thought rather than the automatic thought. I find myself being grateful for little things every day and say aloud, “thank you, thank you, thank you.” If I told you some of the things I show gratitude for you’d laugh really hard.
Thanks for a great post and a great reminder. I’ll remember!

Jaden,
Powerful words! Positive self talk does eliminate negative feelings. When positive appears, negative fades. It’s my experience our subconscious mind is so hungry for positive self talk, it only takes action on what it is fed. I am a huge advocate for positive self talk and changing the way one thinks to change circumstances in ones life. Managing a seizure disorder in my life creates even more inspiration for positive self talk. You have provided quality and priceless information in this space. I look forward to reading more brilliance within your blog.

Hi Jaden,
Just dropped by to say this is really great advice Jaden.
Positive talk really works with me. I wake up in the morning talking to myself that this will be a great day! Though sometimes it doesn’t end great because of some unexpected things that would happen, still I had a great day because I have the right attitude of taking all things that is happening as positive. Thanks for the great post!
Cheers,
Nicole
Hey Jaden,
This is a great post. Practicing positive thoughts everyday does work wonders and it is amazing how things can work, if we just believe and really affimate in them.
I think it is important to jump out of bed and declare each day a great one!
Thanks for sharing,
Beth
I have to say that I admire your ability to “be in the moment” or to “be self-aware.” I think the greatest challenge I have is not thinking about what I am saying and thinking about – I am always focused on doing and action. But you have a keen sense of self-observation -based on the little anecdotes you have nicely shared. I think that’s awesome.
Jaden, talking about saying “don’t forget…” hit home with me. I say and think that all the time. Just pondering my own self talk a bit, I realize I too often think things in the negative sense (don’t forget…instead of remember…) Thanks!
Awesome information Jaden. When I catch myself thinking in ways that are not so positive, I reframe my thoughts. Restructuring the thoughts I have or how I am perceiving something takes attention and focus, but the more I’m “on it”, the more I do it, the more it simply becomes a way of life. Creating positivity in all that we think and do has so many more rewards, which includes the feeling of gratitude for all that occurs in our lives. Great info Jaden and thanks for sharing it with us all!
Hi Jaden
I love your post to bits.

to start doing what you are doing every morning
You just don’t know how much your blog
lift me up to day.
THX !!!!!!!

Great points here Jaden. When we use positive affirmations in ourselves it helps us change our mindset and become empowered.

Great post Jaden, I agree with you 100% about the self talk on positive thinking. I also tell myself every morning that it’s a brand new and wonderful day for me and I give thanks for it. Keep that good energy going Jaden and thanks.

Really great advice Jaden. I try to spend a few minutes focusing on positive thoughts and my intention to make the day positive and productive before I ever get out of bed … cause when my feet hit the floor I usually don’t slow down until I’m heading back to bed at night! Thanks for the inspiration.
