Affirmations

by admin on November 9, 2010

Positive affirmations are phrases or sentences repeated over and over with feeling in order to put an imprint on the subconscious mind, so we can manifest what is desired.

I write my affirmations about things I want to happen. I want perfect health, wealth, happiness, and piece of mind. I write my affirmations on each one of these topics. I write them as if I have them already.

I have the affirmations on a piece of paper by my bed and read them every morning and try to feel the result. Sometimes I have to chip away at that resistance I have built up over the years. After I keep repeating the affirmations for a while, I can fell the resistance weaker and weaker. I start feeling more positive, and I know I am manifesting what I want.

I like to keep my affirmations around, so I can repeat them often, so I have them placed in a few places. I have the affirmations on my computer. I have them typed out on my sticky notes that stay on my desktop.

I keep another piece a paper on my desk, on my bathroom mirror, on my white board, and dream board. I can walk through my house and store and see them everywhere.

I read in a couple of places that writing and rewriting your affirmations about 10-20 times is really a good way to get them imprinted in your mind. I just started this method.

I tried a method I found in a video by Louise Hay. I am not sure of the name of it. I started saying my affirmations in the mirror. I really felt weird to start with, but now I noticed that I am listening to the words more.

Another way Louise Hay talks about is singing your affirmations. She explains that the mind is more receptive when affirmations are sung. I like writing songs, so maybe putting the affirmations to a song, may be right up my alley.

Saying positive affirmations can change your life. If you say affirmations, I would love to hear what works for you. What techniques do you use?

This is a very powerful strategy. I use it as much as I can. I aim for daily when I wake up after prayers. And the key is affirmations builds our inner self talk to say what empowers us and moves us into positive action and not the reverse!

Jaden,

I wonder if singing the affirmations has something to do with the vibrations that each of us has within the world. We all put of a certain amount of natural vibration.

I need to get back into the habit of stating my affirmations to myself daily. I shared the power of affirmations with my daughter not long ago and she came home one day in amazement that it really works. I need to re-start myself so that I can ask her how she is coming along with her own affirmations.

Jaden,

Good words of advice. I use franklin’s system. It starts with habits. Consistent, unconscious patters that constantly express our character and produce our effectiveness……or ineffectiveness. The overlap of knowledge, skill and desire form a habit. It is hard to break old habits but if you apply a system it can be done.

I also like the idea of singing affirmations. When I am in the car driving (by myself) I always sing out loud. It keeps me alert and I always feel fantastic at journeys end.

I also use the sticky notes and have a screen saver with my goals and affirmations. I often find myself staring at them which helps me move to where I want to go.

I love the ideas of singing your affirmations. I find music to be a great way to access comfort and strength. One affirmation I like was actually written for children. It is, “I’m happy and calm and good at what I do.” I find this very helpful. Your self-talk is very powerful, so you might as well use it to your benefit instead of to your detriment. Take it easy!

Cool Jaden!
With your journey through personal development, you definitely understand that we have the answers inside us all along. All it takes is accessing that info, trusting ourselves and taking inspired action towards our goals.

One hint, watch the words you speak. Words like “have to” “make myself” “try” “should” are not empowering you. Find words that sing with positive energy like “I choose” “I am” instead. This will kick your affirmations up a notch because it won’t sound like work.

Envision your desired results and celebrate every little win along the way. Here’s to rocking it with affirmations! Having them all around you is an awesome way to keep them at the fore front of your conscious.

Val :)
