How To Get Backlinks To Your Website

If you have an online business then you know the importance of good rankings in the search engines. How do you get good rankings? Well one thing you need are backlinks. So, what are backlinks?
Backlinks are links from other sites back to your website. Here are a few ways to get backlinks to your website or blog.

· Social networks: Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc
· Forums
· Article sites
· Google
· Syndicate blogs

Always include your website in your profiles of all the social networks you join. Speaking of social networks…have you heard of http://ping.fm?

Ping.fm is a simple and FREE service that makes updating your social networks a snap! When you register for Ping, you can update up to about 35 social networks at one time. If you are not a member of some of the social networks, you can register for them from Ping.

I suggest you register to all of them that are free. Do you see that is 25 or more backlinks just by joining the social networks in Ping?

Onlywire is another good place to register for places to get backlinks. Some of the social networks are the same as in Ping.fm, but some are different. You can submit content to the top 42 social networks.

Social networks are a great place to get backlinks. One more word on a particular social network…Youtube. You should be doing videos. In the description of your video put add your website. Each video is like a different website linking back to your website or blog. Go to other video sites and utilize them as backlinks, too.

Now let’s talk about forums. You need to join forums in your niche. Most forums will let you put your website in your signature. Everytime you are active in a forum and use your signature you create another backlink.

If you have a gmail or yahoo account, you need to fill out a profile for that email address. Google lets you add as many websites to your profile as you would like. As far as Yahoo and Bing, I haven’t found where I can add my website to the profile.

The last way is blog syndication. Read as many blogs as you can a day and comment on them. Make sure the writer knows you read the blog, by quoting something you found interesting in your comment. Or, you could tell a story relating to the post.
